What is the Beis Hora’ah?
The Beis Hora’ah is a small claims court where two parties can obtain a Halachic opinion from a single Dayan — the ideal method of resolving small-scale disputes. This option is less costly, less time-consuming and less intimidating than the Din Torah process.
Both parties must agree to participate and each pay a small fee.
03
An arbitration agreement is signed at the Beis Hora’ah so that the Beth Din will ultimately be able to issue an arbitration award which can be made an order of court.
04
The case is heard by a single Dayan with up to three hearings.
05
Following the hearing(s) a written psak will be sent to the parties within 15 working days.
Can I bring someone to represent me at the Beis Hora’ah?
No, you are required to represent yourself.
What if we need more hearings?
If additional hearings are required, the Beth Din will accommodate that, and an additional fee will be applied for each hearing. Please see price table.
